1.0. This contract is made between NZ WIDE MOVERS and ——————————————————————————————— (“the Customer”). All business undertaken by the movers, including the provision if any, advice, information or other services is undertaken upon and subject to these conditions.
2.0. NZ WIDE MOVERS accepts goods for carriage only upon these terms and conditions and privacy policy:
2.1 QUOTATION
2.1.A All house/office moves and furniture relocation and general freight movement, where prices are quoted based on information provided by the customer, NZ Wide Movers reserves the right to modify prices as a result of incorrect volume, dimension and/or weight or access conditions e.g. stairs or balcony varying to those quoted by the customer at the time of booking. The Customer should notify NZ Wide Moversif there is not suitable and convenient access to the place from which the goods are to be removed. The Contractor can make an extra charge due to any access restrictions and will not be liable for any goods damaged through the lack of such access. Its customer’s responsibility to provide good , safe and secure parking/access/driveway/pathway etc. to the property for truck and movers.
2.1.B. Undeclared redirection, multi route, or additional manpower not requested, storage, etc. will incur extra charges.
2.1.C. There will be an extra charge of $100.00 each for any extra heavy, oversized item such as double door fridge, vault/safe, spa pool, pool table, commercial items, etc. or anything alike etc. It’s the customer’s responsibility to inform NZ Wide Movers prior if the move includes any item of such or similar nature or if unsure, do not hesitate to contact NZ Wide Movers.
2.1.D. It’s the customers responsibility to inform NZ Wide Movers of any fragile item that will require customised packaging. If unsure, please contact us.
2.2 GOODS
2.2.A If NZ Wide Movers notices that goods are not safe to transport or insufficiently packaged and may cause potential damage to either the item being moved or other items, including the vehicle, the company reserve the right to reject acceptance of the item/s.
2.2.B VALUABLES, ILLEGAL/DANGEROUS GOODS AND OTHERS The Customer will not give to the Movers for packing, removal or storage:
a) any article or substance which is, or is likely to be, of a dangerous, corrosive, inflammable, explosive or damaging nature, or anything likely to encourage vermin, bora, or any other pest.
b) Jewellery, watches, trinkets, precious stones or metals, money, deeds, securities, stamps, coins or goods or collections of a similar kind.
c) Prohibited or stolen goods, drugs/medicines, aerosols, paints, firearms, gas cylinders and ammunition.
d) The customers will empty, properly defrost and clean refrigerators and deep freezers. We are not responsible for the contents.
e) Any animals and their cages or tanks including pets, birds or fish.
2.3 TRAVEL TIME, ARRIVAL TIME OR ESTIMATE
2.3.A The company withholds the right to delay the customer’s job by 1 hour due to any unforeseen circumstances without waiving any charges. Should the service is delayed more than one hour the customer will be informed and will then come to a mutual decision at company’s discretion.
2.3.B. Our designated arrival time is to be considered as a guide only. Various factors can affect our arrival time such as unexpected delays on previous job(s), delays caused by traffic congestion and/or accidents, roadwork’s and/or closures, streets not on maps and/or incorrect directions supplied by customer, weather, truck breakdown, etc.
2.3.C. Typical delays that can be avoided and/or accounted for at time of booking are; difficult vehicle access for loading, stairs, more/extra items than advised at time of booking, extra -large or odd shaped items, distances from truck to house(s), waiting for customers and/or settlement keys, poor packing of items, additional pick up and/or drop off points.
2.3.D. Our estimate given for any particular job is provided based upon information supplied by the customer. The customer must ensure they have provided us with as much detail as possible to avoid delays which will cause the job to take longer than estimated. Please be advised that estimated quote is not a fixed quote.
2.3.E. We are aware that settlement & access to new properties is sometimes delayed. Please ensure that you consider the dates & times of the possession of your new home when requesting dates for your removal. Prior to booking, please let us know if you need to process your settlement on the day of your move so we can arrange our team schedule for on that day.
NOTE : FOR INTERCITY MOVING, DATE AND TIME WILL BE BASED ON WHAT WAS AGREED BY CUSTOMER AND NZ WIDE MOVERS.
Customer will be informed for any delay due to weather, road workers or closures, accidents, ferry disruptions
2.4 DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO MOVE
Obtain at your own expense, all documents, permits, and licences necessary for the removal to be completed. It will incur extra charges, if our team has to wait for any documentation needed from your end.
2.5 LOSS, DAMAGE
2.5.A Our services are subject to NZ Contract and Commerical Law Act of 2017. Whilst our team of movers provides highest care and attention when carrying out your move, there remains the risk of damage. Whilst the risk is low, all moving work done will be carried out at “Owners Risk”.
2.5.B Any damage to premises, NZ WIDE MOVERS will only compensate up to $700. However, loss/damage shall be reported while the team is still at the premises, proof of damage and receipt of repair cost shall be provided. If damage was caused by customer’s instructions / customer insisted to push through and was against our advise, we will not be liable to any loss or damage.
2.5.C NZ WIDE MOVERS is not liable for loss or damage caused by accident, theft, fire or explosion or other same circumstances.
2.5.D We are not liable to any loss of damage of television, monitor, instrument, furniture, fragile items, stone/glass tables, and anything alike.
2.5.E Particularly note that damage caused by vehicles to lawns, driveways, footpaths, underground pipes, cables, sewerage and other underground installations is not covered. Should our staff be instructed by the property occupier, or any person acting on their behalf to drive, park or maneuver vehicles in or near an area where such damage is likely to occur, compliance with such instructions will not in any way involve the Company or its insurers in responsibility for any subsequent damage which may be sustained. Such responsibility will rest solely in the hands of the Owner.
2.6 Insurance
Whilst our team provides highest care and attention to your goods when carrying out your move, there remains the risk of damage, especially when handling fragile and or large furniture and white ware items or kitchen appliances without its original packaging/unpacked. Arranging a transit insurance cover will give you peace of mind, should the unforeseen happen, you’ll be able to repair/replace your valued goods and also be covered for any potential liabilities. If you have an existing insurance provider, you can arrange a transit insurance with them.
Transit Insurance covers your goods in transit or when the truck is on the road and in unlikely event it involved in any kind of accident whereby your goods are damaged, then transit insurance covers full replacement of agreed value of contents either by replacement or paying out.
By accepting an email quote request or confirming the booking, you agree to the terms and conditions of NZ WIDE MOVERS. This terms and conditions and any other moving documents (if applicable) will be considered as legal contract between you and NZ WIDE MOVERS and that this considered “as a writing signed and authorised by You” under any applicable law or regulation.
